To see whether the Hatteras heritage designs could be an inspiration to their future products.

ASTHEIMER completed an exhaustive research into the history of Yacht Design, and in particular into the work of Jack Hargraves who along with the Hatteras founder Willis Slane were to produce one of the first composite production vessels the 41-foot convertible sportfisherman “Knit-Wits”.

It was through the careful study of the Hargrave’s design that Astheimer developed a new design language for the Hatteras Motor Yachts that was further modernised to create the latest Motor Yachts recently launched.

The result is a new “Modern Classic” design language for Hatteras, that is showing a resurgeance in many brands in the luxury segment of the market.
