50 years of CES, my 5th consecutive year, lots of cool stuff, but no standouts, this year was a year of transition – a bit like the world we live in! It is always exciting to see the technologies that will change our lives:
Voice controlled everything, autonomous vehicles, robots, drones, 3 screened laptops, holographic head up displays, super thin TV’s and smart everything – hairbrushes, beds, toothbrushes, dog collars and even smart breast pumps!

It is fascinating to get a glimpse into the future and to the fantastic opportunities technology can bring to our lives, VR assisted medical devices, software that optimises materials and shapes to minimise material use and maximise strength.
However there were too many examples, especially from the large corporations, where every possible technology was applied to every device they make, and it leaves you asking the question – is this technology really a help or is it making the appliance and our lives more complicated?
