We are pleased to announce that Volta has partnered Astheimer to design and build its new electric truck. Volta have set out to create an all electric truck specifically to be used in and around cities and urban areas.
Taking away the diesel engine means we are able to completely redesign the all new cab, whilst making the vehicle safer for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists. The driver seat has been placed in the center and the cab lowered to optimise the driver’s field of view. Easy access is provided on both sides with large sliding doors.
Going electric will result in zero carbon tailpipe emissions and has the additional benefit of reduced engine noise. This in turn opens up the possibilities for increased off peak deliveries.
In short, we’re ripping up the design book on urban trucks and starting again!
